When Melissa and Dave asked me to capture their Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines wedding, I was over the moon. This San Diego wedding venue is to die for. I can’t thank the team at Sweet Blossom Weddings for putting together the most lovely wedding. Additionally, the florals by Nectar and Bloom were sheer perfection. When I stepped into the bridal suite and saw Melissa’s Ines Di Santo illusion neckline gown, I was so excited. Her taste is so beautiful, and she paid attention to every detail. Melissa’s bouquet was one of my favorites of all time. Not to mention, it smelled so lovely! I loved how the soft florals paired in contrast to the rough stone pillars in the ceremony site.
Melissa and Dave chose Encore Event Entertainment, and this was the most uniquely talented group I have ever seen at wedding. Around every turn, the band had another surprise up their sleeve. Guests did not leave the dance floor all evening, which made for some amazing party photos.
With multiple ceremony and reception sites to choose from, the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines wedding venue is truly spectacular for creating a one-of-a-kind wedding day. With beautiful, sweeping views of Torrey Pines Golf Course and the pacific ocean cresting in the background, a wedding sunset is truly phenomenal here. You can choose from many ceremony and reception sites ranging from gardens to ballrooms. This beautiful San Diego wedding venue in La Jolla is not only iconic, it’s versatile and a fabulous choice for large weddings.
Melissa and Dave both lived in Boston, and had never bumped into one another. Dave and Melissa decided to leave the East Coast and venture to San Francisco within the same time frame. A mutual friend of a mutual friend decided to introduce the two Red Sox fans at a baseball game. Friends and family at the wedding recalled seeing Snapchat videos from this chance encounter. They saw Melissa hitting it off with a handsome Red Sox fan, and they knew it could be something great. That night, Melissa and Dave left that game together, went to a bar, and shut it down. The two were so deep in conversation that they were literally asked to leave at the end of the night. Who knew that it would take two strangers embarking on a cross-country move to spark the beginning of a perfect love story.
On their one year anniversary, Dave and Melissa walked around the city they fell in love in. They strolled by Crissy Field, which offers stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Dave proposed in the heart of the city they grew to love together. While this intimate proposal was perfect for Melissa, Dave had an even bigger surprise up his sleeve. Later, when Melissa and Dave showed up to their favorite restaurant, they had friends waiting to celebrate with the couple!
Immediately upon meeting Melissa and Dave, it became apparent to me that family is everything to this couple. They chose to include their family and precious heirlooms at their Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines wedding. First, Melissa wore a gorgeous Tiffany bracelet gifted to her mother by Melissa’s father the day she was born. I could see the pride in her father’s face when he saw it on her wrist. Then, Melissa’s brother officiated the most heartfelt ceremony, and Dave’s father was asked to read. Nieces and nephews were part of the wedding party, and grandparents hung out with the groomsmen the morning of the event. Melissa and Dave, I can’t thank the two of you enough for choosing me to document your Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines wedding!
