Hotel Del Coronado Winter Wedding
Gina and Kevin’s Hotel Del Coronado winter wedding was truly magical. Stefanie of Creative Affairs worked to pull together the most amazing team. Adorations Botanical Artistry pulled in white orchids and lush greenery to craft the most lovely cascading bouquets. The team at Rare Bird Brides worked to arrange Gina’s hair into a beautiful and soft low up-do, which certainly fit her personality and the vibe for their laid back, intimate day.
Gina wore a gown she fell in love with from La Belle Mariee Bridal, whereas Kevin wore his military uniform to the ceremony. After the ceremony, Kevin changed into a custom gray suit for the party.
Hotel Del Coronado, A History
I get so excited when I venture to the famous Hotel Del for weddings. Coronado is a picturesque slice of San Diego surrounded almost entirely by deep indigo water and features one of the most iconic hotels in the world – Hotel Del Coronado. Coronado’s Hotel Del has been around for nearly 130 years and one of my favorite things about walking the paths of The Del is that most of the original architecture hasn’t changed a bit! This rich history makes The Hotel Del Coronado the perfect wedding venue to host your San Diego wedding.
This Hotel Del Coronado winter wedding was so unique because much of the holiday charm. One of the lifeguard towers even donned a wreath, left over from Christmas!
Gina and Kevin chose to host their reception in the Coronet Room for their Hotel Del Coronado winter wedding. This room sits adjacent to the Crown room and provides the most beautiful vaulted wood ceiling, and a crown chandelier. The views from the floor to ceiling window overlook the main entrance into the Hotel Del and it’s sprawling lawns. The Coronet room is an intimate space that provides much history. Celebrities and political figures, alike, have dined in the Del’s Coronet Room. President Ronald Reagan once hosted a state luncheon in the space!
Gina And Kevin
Gina and Kevin met while serving together in the military. They got to know one another while deployed on a carrier, and soon their friendship grew into love. The two have been stationed all over the country and the world during their relationship, but nothing speaks to their heart like San Diego. Kevin proposed to Gina on the rocky jetty in front of the Hotel Del Coronado. Therefore, there was no better place for the two to exchange vows.
Their ceremony was absolutely beautiful, and their love knows no bounds. They’ve already been through so much trial and tribulation, having to spend half of their relationship apart, and long stretches without one another. Currently, they are sacrificing for their country and living in Africa. This wedding symbolized more for them than just a unity ceremony. They long for the day they’ll be living back on US soil, close to family and friends. We cannot thank you both enough for your sacrifice and duty to our country, and I’m so honored you chose me to document this special day!
