Marissa and Devin had the loveliest backyard wedding! They chose to host their big day at Marissa’s parents’ estate at Solomons Island where she was raised. This beautiful town is a major boating center located at the mouth of the Patuxent River, in southern Calvert County, Maryland. With its pristine waters and islands, the Solomons has remained a hidden gem of Maryland. Which makes it the perfect vacation spot and for cruising too! Check out some of my favorites from their big day.

Solomons Maryland Wedding

Their lovely wedding had Chesapeake Shore vibes, with a cocktail hour overlooking the inlet, and a backyard reception with a classic, and timeless feel. Also, I absolutely adored the majestic sailcloth tent that shaded the reception area! Hats off to the most talented team at The Hitched Company, they decorated the venue so beautifully!

Marissa wore a gorgeous Grace Loves Lace gown, classic all lace with spaghetti straps, a timeless piece. She looked so radiant and more beautiful than ever! Her lovely bridesmaids wore stunning champagne dresses. On the other hand, Devin and his groomsmen looked so dashing with their matching teal green suits with unique linings!

The couple snuck off to take some photos out on the dock, and then snuck away from the even to enjoy some alone time sipping their custom engraved Dom Perignon champagne. The adorable story behind custom bottles was when Devin proposed, he had a bottle engraved with “she said yes” so they plan to continue the tradition with special bottles. At toasts, Marissa’s father pulled out a 1998 bottle of vintage Dom Perignon.

Solomons Island, Maryland | Pristine Islands And Waters

Solomons Island is a beautiful town sitting around a natural harbor where the Patuxent River meets the Chesapeake Bay. This resort area in Southern Maryland is a boating center and is known for its waters and islands that have retained their pristine qualities! The island offers shops, restaurants, museums, and a boardwalk overlooking the Patuxent. It’s also very popular for cruising and boaters. Finally, Solomons is the perfect vacation spot if you love the peace and quiet.
